An Employment and Entrepreneurship Study (2018) has shown that PAF has generated 1.5 million household level jobs in its programme districts.

“In an average, each loan product of revolving fund has been able to create 1.7 person jobs”  the report said.  Taking 900,000 poor households as the direct beneficiary of the revolving fund, the total number of household’s jobs reaches to 1.5 million.

The study entitled “Employments, Entrepreneurship and Business Opportunities Created by PAF” was conducted by independent organization, DMI& Bright Future International.

The main objective of the study was to conduct situation analysis on employment opportunities and business creation in poor communities through PAF interventions. The study also explored the identification of the most profitable income generating activity, identification of the indirect effects of the PAF in terms of socio economic empowerment of the targeted communities, among others.

On its key recommendations, the study said, “Thereis a significant opportunity of more job creation if the household business could be linked with financial services and marketing. Thus, it is recommended for facilitating CO members to connect with commercial banks and educating them in production and marketing possibly through pocket area development. It was reported that the loss of business was due to insufficient fund, lack of training and market problem the most.”
